Abintus Videos is a business video production company. It was formed in 2008 by video producer Peter Dunphy to create quality video for business in Northern Ireland.
Abintus Videos has attended the Go For It programme, which is Invest Northern Ireland’s tailored advice and support to help start a business. Abintus Videos has also received mentor support via The Growth Programme from Ortus Business Development Agency and Invest Northern Ireland. Abintus Videos has additionally participated in the Business of Finance Programme and the Digital Media Connections Programme, which are programmes funded by Belfast City Council and the European Regional Development Fund under the European Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland 2007-2013. Abintus Videos has additionally participated in the Invest NI Boosting Business Focus On Finance Workshops provided by Invest Northern Ireland part funded by the European Regional Development Fund under the European Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland 2007-2013.
Peter Dunphy is a graduate of the Surrey Institute of Art and Design BA (Hons) Film & Video production Programme. He has a background of creating award-winning short films and web video.
At the IAC International Film and Video Competition 1997 held in Great Malvern, Worcestershire, Peter’s short film Somebody won the IAC Daily Mail Challenge Trophy for the Best Amateur Movie of the Year. He was the youngest-ever winner of this trophy which was founded in 1934 by the directors of Associated Newspapers. Somebody was written, filmed, acted in, directed and edited by Peter in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The photography in Somebody won the Wallace Heaton Cup for the Best Photography. Wallace Heaton was a photographic retailer based in London who supplied the British Royal family with all their cameras.
Somebody also won the Best Youth Trophy and an IAC International Award and has been screened at numerous film festivals across the UK and Europe.

At the IAC International Film and Video Competition 2000 held in Buxton, England, Peter’s short film Betty and Sam which he wrote and directed in Surrey, England, won all the awards in the Open section of the competition. The Open section is specifically for independent and semi-professional film-makers and film students.
Betty and Sam also won the Alan Cartwright Cup for Best British Open movie – The IAC Challenge Trophy, Best Open movie category and IAC International Medallion.
Betty and Sam was runner up at the Royal Television Society Awards 2000 and has been screened at Bafta. It has also been screened across Europe at festivals such as the Kinowelt, De Drake (Belgium), Galway and Dublin film festivals.
